“My favorite feature of Footsteps2Brilliance is the bilingual support. I can instantly switch between English and Spanish during instruction, which allows all of my students to participate and learn together in real time.”
Viviana also values the program’s built-in differentiation tools that automatically adjust learning experiences based on student strengths and needs.
At High Horizons Magnet School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Footsteps2Brilliance has transformed literacy learning for both students and families. As a Pre-K teacher serving many bilingual learners, Viviana uses the program’s bilingual English and Spanish features to ensure every child can actively participate in instruction in real time.
One story especially stood out this year. A student who spoke only Spanish arrived from Venezuela, and her mother worried she could not support learning at home because she did not speak English. Through Footsteps2Brilliance, the family began reading digital books together in both Spanish and English. The student practiced retelling stories and illustrating what she learned while the entire family became engaged in the process. Over time, both the student and her family began learning English vocabulary together.
Viviana says the program has helped families feel connected to learning instead of excluded from it. Parents can reinforce classroom instruction at home using family engagement tools aligned directly to what students are learning in class.
After 15 years in education, Viviana says Footsteps2Brilliance has created something she has never seen before — a true love of learning. Students eagerly ask when it is “tablet time,” celebrate their progress, and build confidence as they master new literacy skills.
“Footsteps2Brilliance helps me teach literacy by giving me engaging, differentiated, bilingual tools that meet every student exactly where they are. Whether students are advanced learners or need additional reinforcement, the program adjusts automatically and provides the practice they need to grow.”
Viviana explains that the program supports whole-group instruction, small groups, independent learning, and home-to-school connections all within one platform. The engaging games, interactive books, tracing activities, and rewards system motivate students while strengthening phonemic awareness, letter recognition, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
