How Does This Service Grant Program Work?

The $5,000,000 Footsteps2Brilliance Early Learning Bilingual Literacy Equity Service Grant provides a game-changing social justice and collective impact approach to eliminating illiteracy in communities that want and need to support their birth to 5-year-old children, provide high-quality educational resources to their community, and improve parental engagement through our Model Innovation City Program. Note that the grant also supports literacy development for students in PreK through 3rd grade.

Based on the overwhelming research demonstrating that children who experience an unequal start to life and school are likely to have long-term challenges, this grant is designed to support all children—birth through third grade—toward academic and life success, with a special emphasis on Latino, Black, and underserved children and communities.

This grant partnership does not fit every district. Only 12 grants will be made available in Missouri for qualified, transformative, innovative, and inclusive superintendents, literacy advocates, and community leaders. Grant recipients join a select cadre of leading superintendents nationwide who are establishing a blueprint for early literacy success in their regions, states, and across the nation. Through this transformative program, each grant recipient is recognized through a Commitment to Action with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.

Footsteps2Brilliance Early Learning Bilingual Literacy Service Grants are offered directly by Footsteps2Brilliance, Inc., and are delivered in the form of in-kind services and benefits, not cash. Qualifying districts will receive 5 years of renewable access to the Footsteps2Brilliance literacy program to serve all of their PreK through 3rd grade students. This is an all-inclusive offering that provides hosting and technical support; professional development for educators; community outreach training and support; all app/software updates; marketing, PR, and National Press Conference and Community Celebration event; and data analytics to make curricular decisions.

The Footsteps2Brilliance Bilingual Early Learning Literacy Equity Service Grant dramatically reduces your expenditure for this solution. The district will invest/pay for 3 years of access at a substantially reduced rate and Footsteps2Brilliance will provide full access for years 4 and 5 at no cost.  In addition, service grant recipients receive the Footsteps2Brilliance Common Core aligned, standards-based, and award-winning curriculum for all eligible children and families throughout their entire city and community at NO COST to your organization or your parents for all 5 years.

How to Qualify:

  1. Complete all questions on the questionnaire and provide details to differentiate your approach or need.
  2. Save and email your form to MO.grants@footsteps2brilliance.com
  3. Qualifying districts will be contacted to arrange a personalized consultation and overview.
  4. Because this is a White House Partnered Initiative, the superintendent and his/her leadership team are required to be available for this in-person overview and evaluation session with Footsteps2Brilliance.
