For this week's Family Friday, we will do a counting game. In Geraldine the Giraffe, children will learn all about how Geraldine uses spots to identify her mother. Children will then practice their counting skills by rolling dice and identifying the spots that have the same number shown on the dice. Read our step-by-step guide on how you can play this interactive activity with your child at home!
What you need:
- Pre-made giraffe template
Open up your Footsteps2Brilliance App, and go to Level 2 (Yellow). In your library, find the Alphabet Animals book series. Find the book Geraldine the Giraffe. Read the book with your child. Be sure to touch the illustrations to see the pictures come alive!
Roll one or two dice, depending on whether you are using the Beginner or Advanced template. Have your child identify what number is shown on the dice. Have your child color in the spots with the corresponding number.
Continue rolling dice until all spots are filled in!
