For this week's Family Friday, your child will put their brain power to the test with a jigsaw puzzle about homophones (words that sound the same, but have different meanings!) Children will be further familiarized with these homophones through this hands-on jigsaw puzzle. Read our step-by-step guide on how you can set up this interactive activity with your child at home!

What you need:
- Scissors
- Tape or glue
- Pre-made printable jigsaw board and pieces
Step 1
This week, the family Friday activity incorporates the learning materials from not one, but TWO books! Open up your Footsteps2Brilliance App, and go to Level 3 (Blue). In the Homophone Riddles A-Z series, find the books Homophone Riddles A-E and Homophones Riddles E-J. Read the books with your child. Be sure to touch the illustrations to see the pictures come alive!

Step 2
Print out the jigsaw board and pieces here. You can print in color or black and white! Using scissors, cut out the jigsaw pieces. This can take a little time, so don't worry about making them perfect.
Now you and your child are ready to get to work!
Step 3
Have your child assemble the puzzle and match the homophones until all the pieces fit together. Tape or glue them on to the board as you go.
Hint: The pairs are color-coded and are in alphabetical order from left to right.
Homophones are hard. When your child has completed the puzzle, don't forget to give them a big high five!
